Between the UofM campus the the Botanic Garden is the beautiful Audubon Park. Besides a playground, paved loop trails, pavilions and workout equipment, the park harbors several dozens on Solenopsis invicta fire ant colonies. We recently started capitalizing on this outstanding resource to investigate how colonies respond to environmental stressors. We will provide more details in the near future.
